Sevenacres, Kelso

Sevenacres is situated in a beautiful part of the country. The house sits in lovely gardens with amazing views. The house itself is very spacious with comfortable rooms. The facilities are everything you could ever need, everything is thought about in detail. The host Nicola is very welcoming and only 10 mins away if you need her. Overall a fantastic place to stay . You wont be disappointed. We would 100 percent book again.

We had a brilliant, sunny week in a beautiful, very large house, with a great view over the countryside. You can sit in the hot tub, take in the view, whilst watching the wildlife deer, stoat, pheasants, birds of prey and much more. Nicola, our host, was very thoughtful and helpful. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed. We would recommend the walk to the waterfall on the nearby estate about an hour and twenty minutes round trip. Kelso was a lovely small town, with free parking! About 15 minutes drive, and Berwick Upon Tweed was well worth the 40 minute drive. If we stay in the area again, which we hope to do so, we will certainly want to stay at 'Sevenacres'. Thanks for a great week Nicola!

Absolutely excellent holiday home. We have stayed in many holiday homes and this is definitely one of the best, if not the best. Beautiful bungalow with loads of space at one point there were seven of us and it did not feel at all crowded. Really comfortable furnishings, a very well kitted out kitchen, a number of bathrooms and showser all very well maintained. The grounds are stunning. The hot tub was a real treat with fabulous views on the sunset. The owner, Nicola, was brilliant in her communication. Can't fault this place and would highly recommend.

I apologise for the lateness of my reply unfortunately this was due to illness. This was the second time I have used seven acres, the first being a ladies holiday in October 2003. This time it was to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and there were three generations staying in the house. This was absolutely wonderful as it gave people space to do what they wanted without getting on top of each other. We were eating out for the celebration meal but my family tastefully decorated the dining room without damaging wallpaper etc. and surprised us with a lovely afternoon tea. It made our 50th anniversary so very special. I cannot walk much now but our children and grandchildren are walkers and had such amazing walks the area really lends itself to this. As you can imagine, the hot tub was very well used. In closing, A great big thank you goes to the owners who have provided an absolutely beautiful home, so well equipped which has certainly given joy at a special time in our family. I wouldnt most definitely recommend Sevenacres to anyone and so hope we can return. Jenn MacIver

THE PROPERTY IS BEAUTIFULLY MAINTAINED INSIDE AND IS PERFECT FOR A LARGE GROUP OR FAMILY. EVEN WITH FIVE OF US WE WERE RATTLING AROUND THE PLACE. ITS A GREAT BASE TO VISIT THE BORDERS AND NORTH NORTHUMBERLAND AND WE WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.

Had a lovely family holiday at Sevenacres. Facilities and location were both great. Can highly recommend this property for a family or a group of friends.

A very spacious, comfy, pleasant property, surroundings beautiful, set in a good location, quiet and handy for getting out and about to local attractions, or for walking. Had a great week, weather just perfect, places worth visiting around an hours drive are The Kelpies, Falkirk Wheel, Kelso and Heatherslaw light railway.

We had a fantastic stay at Sevenacres. The cottage is lovely and very spacious, and in a fantastic setting. The pictures really don't do it justice! Nicola the host was excellent throughout and very helpful! Our party was 6 adults and 2 toddlers, with 3 cars and we had more than enough space to live comfortably for a week without tripping over each other. We highly recommend and would definitely return in the future!

A lovely property and a good base for exploring the local area. We particularly enjoyed sitting in the garden taking in the views. Beds are comfy and the property is equipped with everything you need. Excellent and detailed instructions on how to use all the appliances around the house. We would definitely recommend a stay at sevenacres.

Great Bungalow with plenty of room, great little garden although steps so younger child has to be helped around, and hot tub was good too. Nicola was great and responsive when i made contact before arrival re bedroom set ups. Upon arrival clear instructions given and good communication throughout when needed, or when she came to check the tub. Lots of lovely country walks around, great town on door step in Kelso with plenty of lovely places to eat and more within 30 minutes drive. There is lots to do local outdoors, with children ages 2 and 5 we found for indoor things we has around an hours travel. This doesn't bother us and not a negative but for children who don't travel well maybe worth considering. We visited some of the castle on dryer days, and did nearby Jedburgh Jail and Abbey, travelled to National Museum of Flight and Heatherslaw Railway.

Better than expected, perfect for a large group as plenty of room to find a quiet reading corner, hot tub brilliant & Nicola was very helpful when needed.

We had a wonderful stay here! The house was beautiful, very cosy and homely. Just what we were looking for. There was an issue with the hot tub not working before we arrived but Nicola went above and beyond to ensure we had a replacement tub for our arrival. When we did arrive, the tub was warm and bubbling away for us just perfect. We will absolutely be back.

We have spent an amazing family holiday in the beautiful Sevenacres bungalow in Ednam near Kelso. What a find this was and it was great to read about the history of the property! The property is immaculate with so much space inside, the two living areas was a bonus with a variety of different seating options. It was so relaxing and we could all retire to different corners of the house if we needed some quiet time. It has a large kitchen area with everything you need in the cupboards. The beds are comfy and lots of separate toilets and shower areas. The amazing hot tub is situated in a sheltered spot with beautiful views and a massive seated garden area. We even saw some deer in the fields opposite the house. Great WiFi throughout the property which was a plus for our teenage son! Kelso is only approx. 2 miles away so we took a walk into town as well as separate walks to the surrounding villages. We were so lucky with the weather but if you are stuck indoors there is so much space and you can find games in the cupboards that you can play as a family. This is a really special property and we would thoroughly recommend this to anyone looking for a break away with friends andor family. It had everything we needed and more. Well done to the owners!

We loved our stay at Sevenacres. The bungalow was spacious, well equipped and comfortable for 4 ladies, plenty of safe parking plus the luxury of a hot tub. We were blessed with hot sunny weather and a wonderful peaceful setting. Close to Kelso which we loved and Floors Castle and easy to travel to other places including Edinburgh by train.

Had everything we needed and more. Really enjoyed our stay.

We loved sevenacres and will definitely be back. I loved the decor and the space of the property. It was so relaxing and Kelso is only a few minutes away for shopping.

The property is far bigger than we expected and could accommodate 8 adults with ease we used the open plan area table and chairs and the outdoor seating for meals didn't use the seperate dining room at all. It was clean and everything you could want was provided, far more than previously experienced in other holiday let's. The hot tub was a great bonus although we were confused over the controls and couldn't get the lights to come on. It's a quiet area with dark skies for stargazing and beautiful daytime views. The birds can be a bit noisy in a morning if you're a light sleeper with windows open but that's the sound of the countryside. We had a great full weeks stay and enjoyed the area. Its worth mentioning as we were hesitant initially regarding the baths with hand held showers. These have been upgraded to shower over bath so there are 3 showers in the property all working fine. The extra toilet room near the front door was a real convenience too. The one problem we had during our stay boiler breakdown was quickly sorted by the owner getting a plumber round within hours despite her being out of the country at the time. We'll done Nicola. All in all a fantastic holiday let with comfy beds and everything on hand for a relaxing country holiday. For no nonsense eating out we recommend The Waggon pub in Kelso we had Sunday lunch there and a pub meal later in the week both were fantastic and reasonably priced with great service too.

Beautiful, peaceful location, enjoyed watching oyster catchers, heron and a bird of prey, the birdsong was wonderful from the birds, lovely natural location. Friendly and non intrusive owners. We were so lucky with the fantastic weather. Accomodation, spacious and traditional, we didnt want to leave! Thank you!! will definitely be back in the future

The property is the best that we have ever stayed in. Fantastic bungalow with a great kitchen and all the equipment that goes with it. The views from the outside seating areas are spectacular with nothing to hear but bird songs. Could not recommend highly enough.

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay, the bungalow is so well equipped. Beds are very comfortable and all rooms very clean. Would definitely recommend staying with such lovely views, cant wait to stay again. A big thanks to Nicola x

Second visit to this bungelow and it won't be the last. This is more than home from home. Amazing kitchendiningsitting room where we spent most of our time. Separate dining room and lounge, which is huge. 2 ensuite bedrooms and and another 2 bedrooms. Don't know how many people it can accommodate but it's huge. Hot tub, amazing and beautiful gardens which were flooded in sunshine March was lovely. Nicola the owner is so accommodating. Thanks Nicola, look forward to seeing you again.

Extremely comfortable and wellequipped property, which surpassed our expectations. Lovely rural setting and extensive views. Nicolas love and care for the house are evident in every detail. Hot tub greatly enjoyed too! Excellent area for cycling on quiet roads. We arrived from Tweedbank station following route one, which goes through Ednam village. We hope to return.

We enjoyed Sevenacres so much 2 years ago, that we came back again 700mile round trip. This place has everything you may ever need, so just bring some clothes and treat the place kindly. Nicola is so friendly and helpful and on phone nearby for any urgent issues. The stream at the bottom of the garden is very relaxing, as are the blue tits outside the kitchen window after sunrise and the swifts above the hot tub we saw these first visit. Surrounded by fields, so don't complain about occasional smell of the country that's just the sheep!! Located ideally to explore the borders from Berwick, Dunbar, Edinburgh and Gretna all about the same travel time.

What a lovely bungalow everything you needed was provided for in the property just like being at home and what a lovely location for the property with the river for a view. Would definitely book again.

What a find Seven acres is . You will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. It was our ruby anniversary and we had a meal for several of our friends and family and Sevenacres lended itself perfectly to hosting this event for us. The hot tub and the views are the icing on the cake . What a break we had we would 100.recommend this wonderful home. Nicola was so helpful throughout our break and look after us so well . Excellent accommodation in immaculate condition. Sitting in the hot tub of an evening was one of life's true pleasures.

Sevenacres is absolutely prefect if you're looking for a nice peacefulprivate break. The bungalow is a real home from home and has everything you need. The beds were extremely comfortable and the whole place was very clean and well maintained. The lovely weather was a bonus and we made good use of the hot tub. It's well situated for trips out, Jedburgh, Coldstream, BerwickuponTweed all within eady reach and Edinburgh is only about an hours drive, we suggest you head for the park and ride on the A720 Edinburgh bypass.

An amazing property which easily accommodated our 3 generations. Excellent position for touring the Scottish borders, with us managing trips to Duns, Hawick, Melrose, Jedburgh and Holy Island. WiFi patchy but that only bothered the teenagers! Would definitely recommend and will return sometime.

5 ladies stayed at the property and we all loved everything about it . It was so well equiped ,clean ,comfortable ,probably the best we have stayed in for almost 20 years and we go away together every year.

Stunning property for a tranquil holiday in the Scottish Borders. Huge amount of space, within the property and in the grounds. Very private on a quiet rural road. Fabulous views. Abundance of birds and wildlife to be seen. Terrifically well equipped, the friendly and very personable owners have thought of every need. The only drawback is common to selfcatering properties in general in that the duvets are usually too thick and hot!
