Mount Stuart House and Gardens on Bute makes an excellent day trip. Puck's Glen (14 miles, 25 minutes) offers woodland trails and waterfalls. Kilbride Bay (16 miles, 30 minutes) provides a crescent beach with Arran views. The area suits sailing and cycling enthusiasts.
